What the National Weather Service recorded
Lift generated by a short wave acted on a moist and unstable air mass to produce afternoon thunderstorms over portions of southern Wisconsin. While overall conditions were not favorable for supercell development, high 0 to 3km helicity and high 0-3km CAPE were sufficient to increase the stretching potential of any thunderstorm updraft to produce non-supercell tornadoes. A brief EF0 tornado touched down about 5 miles south of Theresa in Dodge County, breaking off small tree limbs and flattening tall grass in a swirl pattern.

The tornado traveled less than one-tenth of a mile before dissipating. The maximum path width of the tornado was 20 yards with an average path width of 10 yards. The spotter noted small tree limbs snapped off, and tall grass flattened in a swirl pattern by the winds from the tornado. The EF0 rating was determined by using DI 27(TH), DOD1 with winds of 65 mph.
