What the National Weather Service recorded
A gust front generated by strong thunderstorms in east central Wisconsin raced southeast at 55 mph across northern sections of South Central and Southeast Wisconsin during the late afternoon hours of July 30th. Winds of 30 to 40 mph were recorded behind the gust front. Five people were injured in a hot-air balloon incident when the gusty winds rolled the balloon along the ground.
