What the National Weather Service recorded
The approach of a warm front brought numerous showers and thunderstorms, and heavy rain to southern WI the night of April 8th into the morning of April 9th. Low pressure then tracked along the warm front that was located along the WI and IL border in the evening. Numerous thunderstorms developed over southern WI and northern IL from the late afternoon and evening hours. Several of the thunderstorms produced severe hail in southern WI.
